Jared Bowers
@jaredisnothere
Founder of The Lonely House. Writer, editor, amateur photographer, Star Wars enthusiast and high functioning nerd, book lover, music fiend, coffee connoisseur. All about friends and their passions, supporting unconditionally, and working with anyone and everyone to see as many positive changes as possible, locally, regionally, and globally. Works hard every day to bring a sense of unity and purpose to the SW Ohio music scene, and to see a community transcend genres and perceived boundaries. Books shows at Galaxy CDs and promotes as much as possible, for whoever needs it. Has a dog named Ramona because he is obsessed with Scott Pilgrim.
Alicia Inman
@alicia_inman
The Lonely House webgirl/writer/ interviewer/Jill of all trades. Holds a dayjob at Cleriti in Cincinnati. Eats, breathes, and sleeps midwestern music, but doesn’t discriminate against the more coastally-sourced tunes. Cat person. Snowboarding enthusiast, coffee addict, lover of craft beer, in need of rehab for vinyl-purchasing compulsion. Loves southwest Ohio and is passionate about initiating the uninitiated and showing off all the cool stuff it has to offer (which is a lot).
Ryan Shoemaker
@galaxycds
A life long music fan that just can’t give up the dream, Ryan is the founder of Galaxy CDS in Hamilton. After nearly 12 years of being the area’s last remaining record store, he realized that the internet had carved out too much of the business for the store to survive in that form. Rather than walking away, he partnered up with his friends at The Lonely House to reinvent the space to serve the live music and art community in Southwest Ohio. You can find Ryan helping the bands load in and out, writing columns for the Galaxy blog, and handling business at pretty much all the Galaxy events.
Lydia Pennington
@LydiaIsAMom
Avid reader. Karaoke enthusiast. Roller derby fangirl. High-functioning nerd. Mom to a harp-playing kindergarten rockstar. Make posters and flyers while also providing general moral support. The Lonely House’s official cheerleader.
Jaysen Brockman
@jaysenbrockman
A man with too many hobbies, and too little time. Jaysen spends his days working close to 60 hours a week as a Technical Support Engineer in Mason, Ohio. He has written music and played in bands since he was 14-years-old, in genres ranging from grunge-rock in the mid-90′s to electronic metal and post-rock most recently. He is the father to an insane package of part-nerd/all-attitude, named Morgan and is recently engaged to wed his better-looking female counterpart, Jennifer. Jaysen has a newly-discovered love for Subarus and can be found in his garage, throwing wrenches and cursing. Most importantly, he consumes more coffee than be considered “safe,” and enjoys a nice dark espresso roast with a fine grind.
James Brooks
@lowercase_james
A simple man. A man who knows a little about a lot and a lot about nothing. He spends his 9-to-5 working for a corporate radio giant while listening to music they would never consider playing. This folks, is what 2 fine arts degrees gets you. That and a mountain of student loan debt. Despite being somewhat of a “Debbie Downer” he’s excited and honored to be of any help he can to TLH and the Galaxy. Digs live music, vinyl records, concert posters, cats, trying to take nice photos, Sega Dreamcast and most of all spending time with his daughter by enjoying all of the above with her.
Zach Starkie
Zach is a lifelong native of Southwestern Ohio and is especially excited about fostering community and creativity in Hamilton. When he’s not teaching elementary school music, he’s writing songs or performing them and currently leads the Songwriter’s workshop at the Galaxy. If he’s not playing music or teaching, he’s probably drawing or painting or scheming or dreaming.
Jonathan Goolsby
@salinaundergrnd
Jonathan Goolsby is the host / producer / clumsy board operator of ”Salina Underground” — an indie eclectic show airing on Cincinnati’s WVQC 95.7 FM-LP. Every Monday night from 7 – 9 pm Eastern, he and co-host Alicia Inman unite to form VOLTRON, Defender of the . . . no, wait, that’s another show. But they are kind of a big deal in low-power, public access radio. If you’re really feeling saucy, check out the free weekly podcast download: soundcloud.com/salina-underground.
